Confessions.
I have been completely wasting my time over the past 2-3 years when it comes to growing artisitcally. Because of that, I have a lot of ground to make up. I have not been pushing myself. I have not been sketching. I have been growing, but not as much as I could have grown. I have only been doing pictures every now and then when I "feel" like it. I haven't been using my sketchbook as a tool for exploration and learning. I have been lugging it around in my backpack, rarely touching it. I have been stupid and my lack of artistic improvement shows my laziness and my fear. Yes, fear. I have been afraid of my sketchbook. Why? Because I was not at the level I wanted to be. I can't draw at the level several of my classmates can and because I got so caught up in comparing myself to them, I became so terrified of drawing "worse" than them that I simply wouldn't draw. And this has hindered my growth. How can one improve if one does not practice? The simple answer is you can't. So over the past couple of weeks I have been struggling internally over how to fix this problem. And the only solution I can see is to simply face my fears and just DRAW. I don't care how crappy it is. I don't care what people think about it. I just don't CARE anymore. I CAN'T care if I ever want to get better. If I ever want to live my dreams. Im tired of holding myself back because Im too afraid to move forward. No more I say!
So I am accepting the 100 Picture Challenge. I am going to get out of my comfort zone. I am going to STOP being scared and I am going to draw. Im gonna make mistakes. Im gonna get messy. But I am going to improve and I am going to have FUN.
If anyone else wants to, I suggest you give it a try. I think this will be a very liberating experience.
The rules
1.) Make 100 pics each pic having a theme listed below. Each pic should have ONE and only ONE theme to it, for it to count.
2.) No time limit so have fun
3.) The main picture should be drawn but not limited to. for all fair purposes, people are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the pic.
3a.) pics should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the Da etiquette policy. Your pics can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.
4.) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see that......

5.) make sure to update this list and check off what is done and make a link to the pic

Yes.. I agree we all push ourselves. Once I got so mad because I couldn't draw anything, I shaved down my pencil scribbing on a piece of paper! o-o
